History –   

This Corps was originally designated as #2293 The Saskatoon Light Infantry (MG) Cadet Corps on its formation, effective 1 May 1947. As the affiliated unit was re designated so was the Cadet Corps. Effective 17 February 1955 it was re designated as #2293 2nd Battalion, The North Saskatchewan Regiment (SLI) Cadet Corps; and in December of 1970, with the reduction of the affiliated Regiment to one Battalion, the Corps was re designated as #2293 The North Saskatchewan Regiment Cadet Corps. The Corps is sponsored by Unit #38, Army Navy and Air Force Veterans Association. This Corps was formed 1 May 47 as the Saskatoon Light Infantry (MG) Cadet Corps. affil.: Sask Light Infantry. It was sponsored by the 2nd Saskatchewan Regiment. affil.: North Sask Regt (Sask Light Infantry), Mar 1. 1955. redisig: 2nd Bn North Sask Regt Cadet Corps, Mar 1, 1955. Effective 1 Mar 55 the Corps redesignated as 2nd Battalion The North Saskatchewan Regiment Cadet Corps (HQ 2001-12/2293 (DM & C) dated 26 Apr 55 refers). During the 1976 annual inspection report the Corps was placed on probation due to poor overall performance until 31 Dec 76. Probation was removed 24 Dec 76 (message Unclas Cdts 531 refers). Effective 1 Nov 83 change of sponsor from the Saskatchewan Light Infantry Association to the Army, Navy and Airforce Veterans Association. Message D Cdts 079 dated 21 Jan 85 changed designation to The North Saskatchewan Regiment Cadet Corps. On 1 Jun 97, Mgen Howard R. Wheatley (Retired), Colonel Commandant of the RCAC attended their 50th anniversary Annual Inspection, and spoke at their awards banquet afterwards.
