Recognizing Outstanding Army Cadets

The Army Cadet Medal of Merit represents a bold step forward—revitalizing The Army Cadet League of Canada’s awards to reflect the dynamic spirit of today’s Army Cadet Program.

This prestigious medal not only honors outstanding youth for their dedication and achievements but also celebrates the unwavering and commitment of the League’s inspiring leaders. It’s more than an award—it’s a symbol of excellence and leadership, while combining our history with our future.

Starting in 2025, the League is setting its sights high — aiming to recognize nearly 130 exceptional Army Cadets every year who embody the spirit, values, and aim of the Royal Canadian Army Cadet Program. These young leaders are our future.

One Medal, Four Awards!

The Army Cadet Medal of Merit will be awarded once to a cadet.

The Army Cadet Medal of Merit will always be awarded with the corresponding award bar.

Recipients of multiple awards will wear all of the corresponding award bars on the same medal

The Army Cadet Medal of Merit will recognize outstanding Army Cadets who positively reflect the aim and values of the Royal Canadian Army Cadet program through:

Attendance and participation
Community service and good citizenship
Promotes healthy living, and mental and physical well-being
Thorough grasp of Army Cadet training and skills Leadership
Dress and deportment
Communication
